Sculpture Courses

The sculpture courses will be given by Shaun Brosnan, he has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art sculpture and has been sculpting professionally for over 23 years. www.shaunbrosnan.com
I have been a sculptor for as long as I can remember and have always loved making things. I never wanted to be anything else and have been really lucky to be able to sculpt. I love working with people and have lectured at university level.

Over the 5 days you are here we will start work at around 9.30am, break for lunch around 1.30 and afterwards work until you want to, I will be available during the whole day until 6pm. We will explore sculpture modelling in clay, creating armatures when necessary, learn about rubber and plaster mould making and the casting process. We have a local supplier making sculpture materials, a lovely papier maché mix and an air drying modelling clay. We will use resins and metal powders using a technique called ‘cold casting’. You can also make ceramic sculpture and Raku fire it, a fascinating and exciting technique using stoneware clays and metallic glazes, it’s a real hands on experience. I hope I can help you learn something about making sculpture and achieve real results that you will be delighted with whilst having lots of fun on the way.
