Cal Catiu

Cal Catiu is an old spanish masia or farmhouse deep in the countryside of Catalonia in the north east of Spain, near the beautiful city of Barcelona. We are 4 kilometres from the mountain of Montserrat, home to the famous monastery.

Owned and run by three artists, a sculptor, a painter and a ceramicist, it’s the perfect place for an art holiday. Surrounded by the national park of Montserrat it is also an ideal location for fabulous guided walking holidays. The art courses and walking holidays run from Sunday through to Saturday, tuition and all food and drink is included, and to make your holiday as effortless as possible we will collect you from Barcelona airport and take you back too. You don’t need to hire a car, we will run you around, and we have a really accessible public transport system almost on our doorstep.

There are three courses on offer; ceramics with Jean-Marc Desaules, painting with Jason Stalman and sculpture with Shaun Brosnan. We have a fully equipped 50m2 artist studio, full of light with plenty of space to work. You can have as much or as little tuition as you want; we are real hands on artists and enjoy sharing our knowledge and experience.

We, of course welcome non-arty partners or friends who just want to come and relax and be pampered.
